Do you have a car park?

We offer free car parking to guests at the front of the hotel.

The post code for the Moorland is TQ13 9XT. To access the car park please follow the postcode via Bovey Tracey. As you drive around a bend, you will see the Haytor Rock on your right and The Hotel on your left. You will spot the red telephone box just before the turn off.

Are you dog friendly?

Your four-legged friends are very welcome to visit the Moorland, however we do have a few house rules.

Firstly, dogs are welcome in all areas excluding the hotel’s Conservatory Restaurant. You are welcome to dine with your well-behaved dog in the Tinpickle & Rhum Inn.

In regard to staying with us, we do have several rooms which we allow dogs to stay in, please phone us direct to book a dog friendly room on 01364 661142.

There is a charge of £20 for up to two dogs, per night.

Accessibility

Due to the age of the building, we only have a small number of rooms which are lift accessible. We only have 7 lower ground floor rooms at the hotel which are all situated down six steps. Do get in touch if you need to request a lift accessible room/lower floor in the main hotel.

Our restaurant and bar facilities are all on the ground floor.

What time is check in and check out?

Check in time is from 3pm on the day of your arrival. You can upgrade to an early check in for £20, however, if your room is ready before 3pm you are welcome to check in early at no charge.

Check out is by 11am on the day of departure.

What time is breakfast served for residents?

Monday – Sunday 07:30-10:00

Location

The Moorland sits on the main route to Haytor Rock on Dartmoor National Park. The hotel has large grounds and is surrounded by the countryside, a short walk away from the local historic Quarry. The hotel is a short drive away from the famous Becky Falls, or if you fancy a mooch, a quaint little village called Widecombe. We are in a great location for walking enthusiasts, there is miles and miles to explore!
